EFCC nabs City Boy Movement coordinator over fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest on Saturday, saying Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8.

“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.

The arrest comes months after the anti-graft agency declared Tejuosho wanted in April over an ongoing fraud investigation. The EFCC had identified her as a 41-year-old indigene of Lagos State and listed her last known address as Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.

The commission had previously questioned Tejuosho in June 2025 following complaints alleging that she collected money from individuals on the promise of securing federal government appointments and lucrative contracts.

According to the allegations under investigation, fake appointment letters and forged documents were allegedly used to convince prospective victims that she could facilitate government appointments and contracts.

Tejuosho, who is the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited, was subsequently granted administrative bail while investigations continued.

Her arrest followed the EFCC’s April wanted notice, which prompted the City Boy Movement to suspend her as its South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing.

The movement said the suspension would remain in place pending the conclusion of the investigation, describing it as an administrative measure to protect its image, credibility and ethical standards. It also said the decision would allow the investigation to proceed without interference or undue influence.

The City Boy Movement is a political advocacy group that supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

The EFCC’s allegations against Tejuosho remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
