The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, announced the holidays in a statement issued on Wednesday, March 26.
Ajani quoted the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as urging all Muslims to “embrace the virtues of self-discipline, compassion, generosity and peace, emphasising the importance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in building a harmonious society.”
Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to “pray for the nation’s peace, stability, and prosperity during this festive period”, adding that Eid-el-Fitr should inspire unity and cooperation.
