Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani

A high-powered delegation of Kaduna-based Islamic clerics, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, paid Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani a Sallah homage.

The Islamic clerics visited the governor at the Government House in Kaduna to felicitate with him on the occasion of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations.

Speaking, the Chief Imam of Al-Manar mosque, Dr Tukur Adam, said the visit was in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Adam stated that Islam enjoins Muslims to pay homage to their leaders to celebrate with them during such festive periods, before their parents, traditional rulers, and Islamic clerics.

The Chief Imam commended Sani for his people-centred policies which he said have been bringing succour to the common man in Kaduna State.

According to Adam, the governor’s style of administration has brought about peace and development, praying that Allah should guide him on the right path.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Maiduguri road, Prof. Yahya Mujahid, thanked Allah “for allowing us to witness another Eid in peace.”

He recalled that Governor Sani’s administration has enabled the people of Kaduna State to look for their means of sustenance without fear of molestation.

“Property owners no longer fear demolition. Plot owners are now not afraid that their title documents will be revoked. Workers do not fear arbitrary sack,” Mujahid said.

The road Chief Imam noted that Allah will reward any leader who brings succour to the people, praying that He rewards the governor for his good deeds.

Uba Sani urges veterans to support nation-building

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Costain Quarters, Sheikh Saleh Yakubu recalled that their foundation, the Attaisir Development Foundation, used to train street urchins who engage in crime but it has now stopped functioning.

The Sheikh advised Sani to resuscitate the activities of the Foundation, saying they will reduce the incidence of phone snatching, burglary, and petting crimes that are becoming rampant.

In his contribution, Sheikh Abubakar Sadiq who is the Chief Imam of Nagwamatse road mosque, urged Sani to look into the complaints of some former civil servants who were retired by the past administration, but are yet to receive their entitlements.

On his part, Sheikh Suleiman Muhammad commended the District Head of Gabasawa, Alhaji Shittu Ibrahim Dikko, for instituting a neighbourhood security watch which patrols the area.

The Chief Imam of Kano road mosque, Sheikh Habibu Umar, thanked Sani for the road project and other infrastructural upgrade at Kabala area, pleading that adequate drainages should be constructed.

Responding, Governor Sani thanked the Islamic clerics for the visit and promised to look into all their suggestions.

He also sought for their prayers and support, in his efforts to maintain peace and bring development to all sections of Kaduna State.
