El-Rufai: I’ll never join PDP, not even my corpse

As political conversations on Nigeria’s cyberspace become fierce, particularly among leading political parties, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has vowed never to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, had earlier said El-Rufai would eventually pitch his tent with the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election.

Reacting via his Twitter handle on Monday, the governor said even his corpse would not be found around the vicinities of the main opposition party.

“Thanks, Bwala but no, thanks. Never ever, not even my corpse will be found in the vicinities of your new-found political party. I still dey laugh.”

Governor El-Rufai had earlier laughed in mockery at Bwala’s new appointment as the PDP presidential campaign spokesman.

In his reaction, Bwala tweeted: “My attention was drawn to @elrufai laughing at a comment made about me on my past video.

“Hmm @elrufai is one of the finest we have from the north, I will never join issues with him, especially because I am optimistic he will be with us before the 2023 elections.”

Bwala was a member of the All Progressives Congress and a former aide to Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, before dumping the ruling APC for the PDP.

He dumped the ruling party in protest of the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

As a popular APC member, Bwala featured in numerous TV programmes where he criticised the opposition PDP before joining the party.

Shortly after his defection, Bwala and Senator Dino Melaye, were named as spokespersons of the Atiku Presidential Campaign for the 2023 general election.
