El-Rufai nominates new commissioner, reshuffles cabinet

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has nominated Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed, who is the current Administrator of Birnin Gwari Local Government, as Commissioner of Local Government.

This is just as Governor El-Rufai appointed Murtala Dabo as the new Special Adviser on Economic Matters.

The latest development was made known via a statement issued and made available to The Star on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye.

Ahmed was the Director-General of the Kaduna State Quality Assurance Authority before she was appointed as Administrator of Birnin-Gwari.

According to the statement, she was nominated to replace Dr. Shehu Usman Muhammad who resigned to pursue his political ambition.

However, the newly-appointed Special Adviser, Murtala, was until his appointment the chairman of Kaduna State Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Mohammed Jalal, a permanent commissioner in the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, has been appointed as the chairman of the commission.

The statement added that Abdullahi Muhammad Ibrahim has been appointed the new Administrator of Birnin Gwari Local Government.

It noted that Ibrahim has been replaced as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters by Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, the immediate past Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

It further noted that Francis Danladi Kozah has been moved from the Assembly Service Commission to the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA) as Secretary, while Dr. Jibrin Sanusi Alhaji has been appointed the new Secretary of the Assembly Service Commission.
