Elon Musk: Trump would’ve lost election without me

X owner Elon Musk says United States President Donald Trump would have lost the 2024 election without him.

Musk also accused Trump of ‘such ingratitude’.

The billionaire businessman said this in his latest rant against the Trump administration on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

This comes after Trump said he is disappointed with Musk, who recently stepped down as the president’s senior adviser.

‘I’m disappointed in Elon, such ingratitude’: Trump, Musk trade words over tax-cut bill

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election. Such ingratitude,” the Tesla CEO wrote on X.

The back-and-forth made it clear tensions had reached a boiling point between the world’s most powerful man and the world’s richest man, after weeks of speculation that they were headed for a clash of egos.

Musk spent about $300 million in the 2024 election in support of Trump and other Republican candidates.
