Ex-commissioner hails Uba Sani as servant leader after exit

A former Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure in Kaduna State, Arc Ibrahim Hamza, has described Governor Uba Sani as a servant-leader whose mentorship has significantly shaped the governance capacity of his appointees.

In a statement issued on Monday, Hamza expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the Kaduna State Government over the past two and a half years, noting that working under the governor provided him with invaluable leadership experience.

He explained that his decision to resign from office was driven by his intention to pursue a new path of service through an elective position at the national level, adding that the move was carefully considered.

According to him, serving in the administration of Governor Sani was akin to attending “a school of leadership training and service delivery,” where practical governance skills were deeply instilled.

Describing himself as a mentee of the governor, Hamza pledged to carry forward the leadership values, ethics, and governance models he acquired during his tenure into any future role he occupies.

He also noted that Governor Sani allowed him the autonomy to perform effectively as a member of the State Executive Council, adding that he was recognised as one of the top-performing commissioners in 2024 and 2025.

Hamza further commended the governor’s vision, dedication, and commitment to the development of Kaduna State, describing them as a constant source of inspiration.

He also appreciated his colleagues in the Executive Council for their cooperation and shared commitment to public service, noting that the relationships and experiences built during his time in office would remain invaluable.
