A former deputy governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has rejoined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, served under the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The former deputy governor formally rejoined the APC at his ward, Apoi Ward 2, Kiribo, in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Speaking after rejoining the party, Ajayi said his decision was driven by his desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the APC and to back President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office in 2027.

He described the move as a reaffirmation of his loyalty to the party, adding that it would allow him to participate more actively in its programmes and activities.
Ajayi also stated that his return was motivated by his intention to support the EASE Agenda of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and alongside President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
