Ex-Ondo PDP gov candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, dumps party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2016 and 2020 elections in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, has resigned from the party.

Jegede, in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, said the resignation was with immediate effect.

The letter dated August 7 was obtained on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Ex-Ogun councillors beg Abiodun to release severance pay

He stated: “Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, effective immediately.

“I will be glad if you will kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter.”

Jegede did not disclose his next political move in the letter.
