Ex-Speaker lauds Uba Sani on policies, vows to tackle opponents

Former Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Yusuf Zailani, has noted that Governor Uba Sani’s policies have impacted on the vast majority of the people.

The ex-Speaker listed enhanced security, the distribution of free fertiliser to farmers and roads construction as well as the over all rural transformation of the administration,  as some of the laudable policies.

Hon. Zailani gave the commendation when Governor Uba Sani and some senior government officials paid a condolence visit at his family house at Rigachukun, a town on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis, located at Igabi local government, on Sunday.

The former speaker disclosed that successive administrations have been promising to construct the Gadan-Gayan to Kujama junction road but have failed to deliver on their promises until the coming of the present Government.

He said that for 46 years, the people have been yearning for the construction of that road, since the civilian administration of the late Alhaji Shehu Shagari in the Second Republic.

Zailani said that he mentioned the state of the  road’s disrepair  to Governor Uba Sani casually and the next day, Government officials came and started taking measurements, adding that ‘’right now, the road is almost completed remaining just a link bridge.’’

The grassroots politician said that many farmers will benefit from this project when completed , ‘’so we are duty-bound to commend His Excellency, the Governor.’’

The ex-Speaker also commended Governor Uba Sani for distributing fertiliser free of charge to farmers, saying that this kind gesture is unprecedented in the history of Kaduna State.

Kaduna farmers get free implements, fertilisers, pesticides

‘’Eighty per cent of our people are farmers, they are not contractors. All they know how to do is to farm and rear animals. The free bags of fertiliser that they received,  have touched the lives of our people in a very significant way,’’ he argued.

The former Speaker also said that Governor Uba Sani has contained most of the security challenges that had bedevilled the state during the last administration.

‘’Our people are now moving freely and going to their farms. So, it is imperative to thank President Bola Tinubu,   you the Governor and your friend, the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu,’’ he noted.

Zailani added that the people of Igabi local government pray for the success of the Uba Sani administration, adding that it  has ‘’done what no other administration has done for the area.”

He mentioned the Skills Acquisition Centre that is located at Rigachukun which aims to graduate about 1,500 young people yearly and ‘’a sizeable number will come from this local government.’’

The ex-Speaker pointed out that the graduates  of the Skills Centre will be given  National Board for Technical Education(NBTE)-recognised certificates,  which will enable them get employed by either Government or Corporate organisations, if they choose to look for jobs.

Zailani vowed to tackle  Governor Uba Sani’s political opponents because ‘’Igabi local government is a no-go area for anybody. It is for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani alone.’’
