A former governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, is dead.
It was gathered that Ibrahim died after a protracted illness in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 73.
Born in October 1950, Ibrahim was the governor of Yobe State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007.
He also served as the governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993.
In 2007, he was elected to the Senate to represent Yobe East.
He ran for re-election in 2011 on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and won until 2015 when he quit the Senate seat for Ibrahim Gaidam, also a former governor of Yobe State.
