Explosion kills POS operator in Kaduna

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated around Yazufa Junction, Hayin Danmani in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that the explosive device was detonated on Saturday after it was planted in a motorcycle belonging to one Mohammed Hassan, a POS operator in Igabi LGA.

The explosion led to the injury of one Hassan at the close of business, who went to pick up his motorcycle where it was parked close to his shop to start his motorcycle.

Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the explosion injured Hassan and a yet-to-be-identified passer-by, adding that there was also damage to the roof of nearby structure.

Aruwan added: “Personnel of the Police anti-bomb squad arrived at the scene to remove the debris. They also disabled a second device found planted in the motorcycle.
