Ezinne Kalu hails Tinubu’s visit to Abia, backs women empowerment drive

The wife of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Ezinne Chinyere Benjamin Kalu, has welcomed the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Abia State, describing her visit as a strong demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to women empowerment, social development and cultural preservation.

In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday in Umuahia, Dr. Kalu said the First Lady had continued to champion initiatives that improve the lives of women, children and vulnerable Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Initiative and other humanitarian programmes.

She commended Senator Tinubu’s efforts in promoting education, healthcare, youth empowerment, social inclusion and economic opportunities for women, noting that the interventions were helping to strengthen families and drive national development.

Dr. Kalu also applauded Abia State Governor Alex Otti and the state’s First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, for hosting the First Lady and fostering collaboration between the Federal and Abia State governments on programmes aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.

She said the First Lady’s participation in the celebration of the Akwete Weaving Heritage highlighted the importance of preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage while creating sustainable economic opportunities for women artisans.

According to her, the visit recognises the resilience, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Abia women and reinforces the role of cultural heritage in driving economic growth.

Dr. Kalu prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom and good health for the First Lady and reaffirmed the support of the people of Abia State for initiatives that promote inclusive development, women’s advancement and national unity.
