Fani-Kayode, Melaye trade words over Ayu

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, and the spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation and ex-senator, Dino Melaye, have been engaged in a war of words over the emergence of Iyorchia Ayu as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former senator had said all the governors elected on the platform of the PDP spent money at the party’s National Convention in Abuja to elect Ayu as national chairman.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend Ayu just as he also called on security operatives to arrest Melaye for revealing that the election that installed Ayu was faulty.

The former minister equally described Melaye’s assertion as open confession, stressing that the said process of bringing Ayu as the party’s chairman was a criminal offence.

“This is a grave and serious matter. It is a public confession of a criminal offence made by a senior figure within the PDP cabal that committed the said offence.

“It follows that Ayu’s election was a product of corruption and criminality and so was Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s as their party’s presidential flagbearer at a later convention which was conducted by him,” he said.

In his reaction, Melaye, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th Senate, called Fani-Kayode names, adding that he spoke in “an incoherent gibberish produced from his temporary relief from insanity.”

He added: “How can one explain his momentary consciousness to react to an interview long granted, if not that his world of reality is not in sync with the world of sound minds.

“He was nothing more than a tout then and nothing has changed. Fat, ugly, balding, obese man, even at a relatively young age.

“What can one say about a man that just loves to li*k other men’s arse? Please stop behaving like a coward and weeing and defecating in your pants whenever trouble comes your way,” Melaye said.
