Fans express concern as Regina Daniels sparks marital crisis

Fans and colleagues of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels have expressed deep concern over her well-being following the circulation of a viral video in which she appeared in tears, alleging domestic violence in her marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.

In the emotional video shared online on Friday, the actress was seen crying outside in the dark, lamenting her alleged ordeal. “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my house, I am a queen,” she said tearfully. Her young son, who appeared beside her, tried to console her as she added, “Baby, what again? I cannot stand this violence. It’s too much.”

The video also showed tense moments as men believed to be security personnel attempted to calm the situation, leading to a confrontation with her brother, Sammy, who was present at the scene.

Shortly after the video went viral, Sammy took to Instagram to defend his sister, writing, “Makachi! E pain me say una wan finally laugh my sister. Let me repeat — anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood!”

The controversy reignited public scrutiny of the actress’s marriage, with some fans recalling an old clip in which Nwoko jokingly told Regina, “You will tell me I’m not your father, and I’ll say, no, I’m your husband,” to which the actress quickly replied, “You’re my everything,” in an attempt to lighten the moment.

The incident also drew the attention of actress Angela Okorie, who was recently involved in an online feud with Daniels. Their disagreement began after Okorie criticised fellow actress Mercy Johnson, prompting Daniels to defend Johnson. The spat later turned personal, with Okorie mocking Regina’s marriage and Daniels accusing her of once showing interest in Nwoko.

Responding to online users linking her to the latest drama, Okorie wrote on Instagram, “Nigerians, na me dem beat for Ferrari and private jet house with eight wives? Why una dey tag me kwanu? Oh chim, Angelaaaa.”

Meanwhile, several celebrities and fans have voiced support for Daniels. Actor Stanley Ontop wrote, “Nothing should happen to my Gina ooo… make hand no touch her abeg.”

Social media has since been flooded with mixed reactions.
User @sawiitee asked, “Hope say no be movie?” while @yourmosttrustworthyattorney commented, “This is too sad. I was hoping it was a skit.”
Others were more critical, with @bigbillzbaby writing, “She chose this life forced on her by her mother, who doesn’t know any better,” and @callmeoche adding, “Why marry someone old enough to be your grandfather? He’ll always see you as a child.”

As of the time of filing this report, neither Regina Daniels nor Ned Nwoko has released an official statement addressing the viral video or the allegations of domestic violence.
