Fans mock Ronaldo over penalty miss against Middlesbrough

Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been mocked by football supporters for missing a penalty in the FA Cup match against Middlesbrough on Friday.

Ronaldo, who clocked 37 on Saturday, had the chance to open the scoring from the penalty spot for the Red Devils on Friday night after Paul Pogba was fouled by Boro defender Anfernee Dijksteel.

However, the Portuguese forward screwed his effort wide of goal to stun the Old Trafford masses, while the travelling fans cheered wildly after the Portuguese’s shock miss.

Ronaldo, who was left red-faced after missing the penalty, was mocked by fans on social media.

A fan, who took to his Twitter page, wrote: “Penaldo is truly finished.”

“Penaldo missed his favourite meal,” another fan wrote on Twitter after Ronaldo’s miss.

Another supporter further commented on the horror miss by the Portuguese star.

He stated: “Nobody should miss the target from 12 yards. Should dock wages if a professional does it.”

“Let’s all laugh at Ronaldo,” said one fan, followed by a series of laughing emojis.

Jadon Sancho had put Manchester upfront in the 25th minute of the first half with a powerful strike after charging down the left wing.

Boro equalised in the second half and took the game to penalties after holding the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw.

Manchester United, however, lost the shootout and were dumped out of FA Cup.
