Authorities have ordered the closure of Farm Centre Market in Kano State following a violent incident that has heightened tension in the area.

Sources say an alleged thief was apprehended at the market on Tuesday and brutally assaulted by a group of individuals in what eyewitnesses described as jungle justice. Officers of the Nigeria Police Force later intervened, rescued the victim, and rushed him to a medical facility for treatment.

However, reports from sources within the community indicate that the suspect later died, sparking unrest and fears of possible protests or retaliatory actions around the Farm Centre axis.

Traders and residents have been advised to avoid the area until further notice as authorities work to restore order and investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
