Father arrested for raping 17-year-old daughter

A 46-year-old man, Olusegun Oluwole, has been arrested for raping his 17-year-old daughter.

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command arrested the father of six in Amolaso area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

Spokesman of the Police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Ibara police station by the victim.

The daughter reported her father to the police.

The victim who came to lodge the complaint along with some operatives of the So Safe Corps, a security outfit in the state, said while she was sleeping, her father forcibly had sex with her in their one room apartment.

The PPRO said: “Upon the report, the DPO Ibara division, CSP Bernard Egbondiya, detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he committed the crime.”
