The operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a man, Amos Paul, for allegedly brutalising his 10-year-old daughter at Upenme in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Jimoh said the man allegedly used a heated laundry iron to burn the private part of his daughter for bedwetting.
Jimoh, who disclosed that the incident was reported to police on Thursday, said the girl sustained severe injuries and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, for medical treatment.
He stated: “Upon receipt of the information, detectives from ‘A’ Division, Owo, swiftly mobilised to the scene, arrested the suspect and took him into custody.

“The case has been transferred to the Gender Unit for discreet investigation and further necessary action in line with established procedures.”
The police spokesperson urged the people of Ondo State to promptly report cases of child abuse, domestic violence, and other related offences to the nearest police station.
Jimoh assured that the command would continue to ensure that offenders are brought to justice.
He reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable members of society from all forms of abuse, violence, and exploitation.
