Operatives attached to the Edo State Police Command have arrested one Felix Iloghevbo for defiling his seven-year-old daughter.
The suspect committed the offence on September 19, 2023, in the Idokpa community, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, in a statement, said operatives of the Egba Divisional Headquarters arrested the suspect while acting on credible information.
The PPRO said the suspect had confessed to the crime while the victim was taken to a hospital for a medical examination.

“The men of the Egba Division arrested Iloghevbo after they got credible information about the crime which occurred on September 19, 2023, in the Idokpa community in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, the PPRO stated that one Godwin Osaghale was also arrested for raping a 20-year-old girl in the state.
He said the suspect was arrested at Uromi, following a complaint from the father of the victim.
The suspect reportedly entered an apartment where he met the sick daughter on a chair and forcefully had sex with her.
