A Lagos trader has been charged with sexually abusing his four-year-old daughter, appearing before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Ebere Ezetoha, 44, is accused of digitally penetrating the young girl, an act allegedly witnessed by the child’s mother after she heard her daughter crying. The incident reportedly took place on Valentine’s Day at the family’s residence on Prince Ibeh Arinze Crescent, Ago Palace, Lagos.
Prosecutor Adegoke Ademigbuji, citing the News Agency of Nigeria, told the court that the offence violates Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Ezetoha denied the charge, entering a not guilty plea.
Presiding Chief Magistrate Omolara Kushanu granted the defendant bail, set at N500,000 with two sureties. The case has been adjourned to April 9 for mention.
