Residents of Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have praised President Bola Tinubu for ongoing road construction projects in satellite communities, describing them as impactful and long overdue.
The commendation came during an inspection tour by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, of key infrastructure projects, including the Kubwa-Gbazango Road, popularly known as Arab Road.
Speaking during the visit, a resident, Prosper Onyenaucheya, lauded the Federal Capital Territory Administration for prioritising development projects that directly benefit local communities. He specifically commended the pace of work, noting that residents are already feeling the impact of the ongoing construction.
Wike, who expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of execution, said several projects—including the Karu township roads, Apo-Karshi Road, and the Kubwa-Gbazango Road—are progressing as scheduled and are expected to be commissioned as part of activities marking the administration’s third anniversary.
The minister reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to expanding road infrastructure across the FCT, adding that efforts are also underway to improve sanitation and urban organisation through sustained development initiatives.
He also highlighted the performance of local contractors, particularly Abdul Val Nigeria Ltd, which is handling the Karu Road project from Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction. According to him, the quality of work demonstrates the capacity of indigenous firms to deliver on major infrastructure projects when given the opportunity.
Wike further assured that, based on current progress, the Kubwa-Gbazango Road is on track for completion and commissioning in June.
