More than 8,000 civil servants under the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) are scheduled to participate in promotion examinations this week.
The exams, which will run for five days—from Tuesday, November 25 to Saturday, November 29, 2025—will take place at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road in Abuja.
Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, said on Sunday that the candidates cut across 165 different cadres.
He noted that the FCT Minister approved the Commission’s request to fast-track the 2024 promotion exercise for FCT and FCDA workers as part of efforts to boost staff motivation.
Ezeh explained that the promotion process will be conducted through a Computer-Based Test (CBT), strengthening the newly introduced digital system approved by the Minister.
He recalled that under the leadership of Barr. Nyesom Wike, the FCT became the first civil service commission in Nigeria to conduct promotion examinations using CBT.
In August 2025, the Minister approved the promotion of 49 directors who passed the digital assessment.
