BUA Group Chairman, Abdulsamad Rabiu
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given its nod for BUA International Limited to construct the Kano-Kazaure-Kongwalam highway under the tax credit scheme.
The Council approved N115 billion for the construction of the road over a period of 48 months.
The 131.4 kilometres single carriage way will be converted to a dual carriage way. The road links Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.
BUA International Limited is a subsidiary of BUA Group owned by Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu.
Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing State House Correspondents after the weekly FEC Meeting.
Fashola said: “So, Ministry of Works and Housing presented one memorandum for the dualization of the Kano-Kazaure-Kukula line highway, 131.4 kilometres from a single carriage way to dual carriage way.
“So, Council approved that proposal at a cost of N115,425,896,973.15 over 48 months.
“The instructive thing is that the financing will be done by the tax credit scheme of BUA International Limited and they will use Messers PW Construction Nigeria limited, a company in which they have acquired some interest, to undertake the construction.”
