Female lawyer found dead on Abuja road

The lifeless body of an Abuja-based female lawyer, Princess Chigbo Mediatrix, has been discovered along the Kubwa Expressway in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This comes barely four days after the body of a nurse with the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in the Jabi area of Abuja, Chinemerem Chuwumeziem, was found by the roadside in the FCT.

While details of the circumstances leading to her death remain unknown, it was gathered that the body of the lawyer was discovered by the roadside along the Kubwa Expressway.

Mediatrix, a former Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch, was also said to have fallen victim to “one-chance” hoodlums in the FCT.

According to a post on X, the deceased was found at a separate location with documents suggesting she might have been a staff member of the FCT High Court.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said preliminary investigations into the deaths of the two women suggest a link to the activities of “one-chance” gangs operating in the nation’s capital.

Adeh added investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killings.
