A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to receive the remains of the late business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, ahead of his burial.
The delegation, which departed Nigeria late Sunday, touched down in the early hours of Monday in the Islamic holy city, where funeral rites for the late philanthropist are scheduled to hold later in the day.
Led by the Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the delegation includes the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Also part of the delegation are prominent Islamic scholars and clerics including Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, who serves as the imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja.
Officials from the Nigerian Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, have been on ground coordinating funeral arrangements in line with Islamic rites.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a revered industrialist and elder statesman, passed away over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across Nigeria and beyond.
His burial in Madinah reflects both his deep religious devotion and the high esteem in which he was held by the Muslim ummah.
