Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan
The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed all civil servants on grade level 12 downward that have been vaccinated against COVID-19 to resume in their duty posts from Wednesday December 1st.
Those without proof of vaccination have been mandated to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test done within the last 72 hours.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan in a circular HCSF/3065/VOL.1/107 dated November 26th also stated that all public officers who are yet to be vaccinated are advised to do so immediately at different Federal Government Staff Clinics in Abuja and other centres nationwide as available in the National Primary Heath Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) website.
Yemi-Esan further directed that all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Agencies and Extra-Ministerial Offices are not only to bring the information to all concerned but also to ensure strict compliance.
It would be recalled that since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease in Nigeria in February 2020, these categories of workers have been directed to be working from their respective homes. But based on advice from the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, the category of the civil servants are now required to resume at their duty posts.
