The Federal Government has introduced an automated system for admissions into Federal Unity Colleges across the country, in a move aimed at ensuring transparency, efficiency, and better management of school capacities.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, Boriowo Folasade, said the reform—driven by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa—fully automates the admission process, eliminating overstretched facilities and guaranteeing fairness.
Dr. Alausa described the initiative as a milestone, stressing that it would promote operational efficiency and sustain quality in the colleges.
The current phase of the exercise covers 80 conventional Federal Unity Colleges (Junior Secondary School 1), while admissions into the 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme will follow later.
Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, hailed the reform as a “game-changer,” noting that aligning admissions with each school’s capacity would create a better learning environment.
Parents and guardians have been advised to check admission results on the ministry’s official website.
