The Federal Government has restated its determination to promote Nigerian-made products as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s economy.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, gave the assurance on Monday during a working visit to the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Products Showroom in Abuja.
Oduwole, who toured the agency’s innovation hubs and production facilities, lauded NASENI’s model of attracting investors and transforming ideas into practical solutions. She stressed the quality, uniqueness, and economic value of homegrown goods, urging Nigerians to “buy what we produce and produce what we use.”
Pledging to champion local products, the minister said the initiative aligns with the administration’s vision of building a one-trillion-dollar economy through job creation, GDP growth, and strengthened national security.
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Amb. Nuru Rimi, commended Oduwole’s proactive approach, describing the partnership with NASENI as a “new chapter” in service delivery, policy execution, and national progress.
NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Khalil Halilu, hailed the visit as a milestone for public-private collaboration. He highlighted the agency’s capacity to meet market demands with quality and competitive pricing, citing innovations ranging from energy solutions to vaccine manufacturing.
“Our partnership with the ministry will drive a new industrial era, putting Nigerian craftsmanship, innovation, and pride at the centre of global competitiveness,” Halilu said.
