The Federal Government has finally honoured its earlier promise to reward members of the Super Eagles for their impressive performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire by issuing housing and land allocations to the players.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), each member of the team has now received official certificates confirming their entitlement to a plot of land and a housing unit that were previously pledged by President Bola Tinubu.
These documents were handed over to the players during a brief presentation held at the team’s training camp in Fez, Morocco on Monday.
Nigeria finished as runners-up in the tournament — which took place in 2024 — after losing the final 2-1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire.
Earlier, upon their return to the country, President Tinubu welcomed the squad at the Presidential Villa, where he honoured each member with the national title of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
At that event, he also announced the housing and land awards as part of the government’s recognition of the team’s achievement.
