Fire guts building in Ooni’s palace

Fire has gutted a building in the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

It was gathered that the inferno, which occurred at about 11:30 p.m., was put out before spreading to other buildings in the monarch’s palace

It was further learned that the fire started after electricity supply was restored into the palace.

Confirming the incident via a statement issued on Saturday, April 29, Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, disclosed that the fire was triggered by power surge, which made electrical appliances to explode.
