A container truck caught fire on the Ojota Bridge near the Old Toll Gate in Lagos on Wednesday morning, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and firefighters.
The incident occurred at about 8:24 a.m., and emergency responders were quickly deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze and manage traffic.
Officials said the fire has not significantly disrupted traffic flow, but motorists were urged to exercise caution and follow directions from traffic authorities as the situation unfolds.
A high-capacity tow truck was also brought in to assist with vehicle removal and restoration of normal movement on the bridge.
The development follows a separate fire incident reported on Tuesday, when a high-capacity commercial bus caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge, causing delays for commuters heading towards Iyana Oworo.
Authorities have said they will provide updates as more information becomes available.
