Fire has again gutted dozens of shops at the Gamborun Market in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The fire outbreak, which began at about 2 p.m. on Saturday, was still raging with officers of the Borno State Fire Service at the scene to contain it.

Confirming the incident, the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, said the operatives of the command and other security personnel were battling to put out the fire.
Umar said about five firefighting trucks were deployed to the scene to contain the inferno.
Hundreds of affected traders were seen struggling to collect remains of their property in the rubble, while some watched helplessly as the fire continued to ravage more structures.
