A 46-year-old Florida woman and her 22-year-old son have been arrested after allegedly admitting to having a sexual relationship.
The incident came to light during a domestic dispute at the family’s home in Lakeland, southwest of Orlando.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Christina Clemens called deputies and alleged that her son, Shane Clemens, had assaulted her during the argument.
Shane was arrested following the complaint. During questioning, he allegedly told deputies that he and his mother had been having a sexual relationship since he turned 18.
Judd said detectives later asked Christina about the allegation, to which she reportedly replied that it had happened “only about 100 times.”
Investigators also questioned Christina’s husband, who said he was unaware of the relationship. However, he reportedly told detectives that he had found it suspicious that his wife and son would enter the master bedroom and lock the door.
Both Christina and Shane were charged with incest, while Christina also faces an adultery charge.
Sheriff Judd condemned the alleged relationship, describing it as illegal.
