Footballer kills ex-lover, removes intestines

A 45-year-old man, Bankole Oginni, has killed his ex-lover (whose identity had not been revealed by the police).

Oginni, who claimed to be a footballer, also ripped open the victim’s belly.

The offence was committed at Oginni’s residence in Oke Aro area of Akure, Ondo State.

Ondo Police spokesman, SP Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the suspect has been arrested.

The police stated that the deceased’s daughter traced her mother to the suspect’s house after her mother failed to return home.

At Oginni’s home, she found her mother’s body in the room with her legs and hands tied, her belly ripped open and the intestines removed.

Ondo Police spokesman, SP Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the suspect has been arrested.

He said: “A lady reported at the station that her mother’s ex-lover Bankole Oginni, called and invited her over to his place at Oke Aro, Akure and after she left for his house, she did not return.

“Her phone was switched off. She traced her mother to the house, only to find her body in the room of the ex-lover. Her legs and hands tied and her belly opened with intestines removed.

“Also, there were patches on her (the deceased’s) body that shows signs of hot water burns.

“Suspect in custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.”
