The police have arrested four men accused of impersonating the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to defraud a retired senior military officer and several others of more than ₦150 million.
The principal suspect, Yashim Kajang, of No. 3 Martin Elegoma Street, Nigeria Army Post Housing Estate, Phase 1 Kurudu, was arrested on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
He allegedly convinced Major General A.K. Ibrahim (rtd) and other victims that he worked with the FCT Minister and the Director of Lands, using this false claim to collect over ₦150 million for land documentation in respect of Plot 1985 at Guzape II Cadastral Zone, measuring three hectares, as well as other plots.

During interrogation, Kajang identified three alleged accomplices—Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both of the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), and Terngu Ipaven of Chief Palace Road, Durumi 2, Abuja. He confessed that they supplied him with land data and official information used to carry out the fraudulent transactions.
All four suspects are currently in custody as police continue their investigation.
