Four members of the House of Representatives have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, read the defection notices during plenary in Abuja on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Inuwa Garuba (Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency of Gombe), Abdullahi El-Rasheed (Dakku/Nafada Federal Constituency of Gombe), and Mohammed Audu (Karim Lamido Lau/Ardo-Kola federal constituency) defected from the PDP to the APC.

The lawmaker representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Obika Chinedu, also dumped LP for the APC, while the member representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu Federal Constituency of Osun State, Adewale Adebayo, joined Accord from the PDP.
The lawmakers hinged their decision on the internal crises rocking the opposition parties.
