The operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the alleged gang rape of a teenager in the Ijebu-Igbo area of the state.
The command’s Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Opeyemi Oluborode, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Oluborode said the incident occurred at the victim’s residence in Odo-Idi Sale, Oke Sopen in Ijebu-Igbo, on August 30, 2026.
Oluborode disclosed that the suspect was arrested following a formal report lodged at the Ijebu-Igbo Division by the victim’s mother at about 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday.
He said police operatives visited and secured the scene, while the 19-year-old victim was taken to the General Hospital for medical examination and care.
He noted that police officers subsequently arrested one of the suspects, identified as Ayomide Kamula, 20, while his alleged accomplice, Boye Balogun, remains at large.
