FRSC officer dies, 3 others injured in Abuja accident

A fatal accident involving a Federal Road Safety Corps towing van and Dangote truck has claimed the life of the FRSC officer, leaving three persons critically injured in Abuja.

It was gathered that the accident occurred on the Kugbo Nyanya expressway, near Karu bridge, in the earlier hours of Friday, September 1, 2023.

The VIO Area commander in Kugbo, Walter Amechi, disclosed that the accident was caused by mechanical failure (brake failure).

Amechi said the FRSC towing vehicle was towing a Dangote truck, carrying cement which had its brake failed, to the VIO office in Kugbo.

The accident caused a gridlock along the Karu, Mararaba, and  Nyanya axis.
