An officer of the Lagos State Police Command has allegedly shot a man, Toheeb Eniasa, dead at a filling station in the Obalende area of the state.
It was gathered that Eniasa was shot dead by the policeman while struggling to buy fuel at the filling station in Lagos on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
It was learnt that two police officers drove into the station to purchase fuel but motorists asked them to join the queue.
In the process, an argument ensued which resulted in a fight and one of the officers shot Eniasa and absconded the scene.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday, May 2, said the errant policeman is serving at Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 17, Lion Building in Lagos.
Hundeyin, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, said: “The person behind the shooting has been identified as a police officer serving at Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 17, Lion Building, Lagos.
“Investigation is still ongoing and further findings will be made available.
“Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command is working with the family of the deceased to ensure that there is no miscarriage of justice.”
