FULL LIST: US adds 10 Nigerians to ‘Worst of the Worst’ immigration list

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published the names of 10 Nigerians on its latest “Worst of the Worst” list, featuring immigrants arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over alleged criminal offences.

The newly released list includes Nigerians accused or convicted in cases involving wire fraud, identity theft, drug-related offences, assault, conspiracy and crimes involving children.

Those listed are Temitope Bashua, Ojehoro Lewis, Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe, Daniel Oworen, Raymond H. Ekevwo, Franklin Dikeocha, Johnson Ogunlana, Chukwuemeka Okorocha, Tunde Korede and Chukwuemeka Chinye.

According to the DHS database, Bashua is linked to allegations of wire fraud, identity theft and fraud in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, while Lewis is listed over cruelty towards a child in Conroe, Texas.

Oziegbe and Ekevwo were listed in connection with wire fraud cases in Louisville, Kentucky, and Oxford, Wisconsin, respectively. Oworen was listed over a dangerous drugs offence in Conroe, Texas.

Dikeocha is accused of a sex offence involving a child, specifically fondling, in Dallas, Texas, while Ogunlana faces fraud and identity theft allegations in White Deer, Pennsylvania.

Okorocha is listed in connection with wire fraud, dangerous drugs, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault involving a non-family gun in Allenwood.

Korede was listed over conspiracy, while Chinye is associated with larceny from a banking-type institution, fraud, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy. Both cases are in Allenwood and Pollock, Louisiana, respectively.

DHS said the database was created to highlight immigrants it considers among the most serious criminal offenders arrested by ICE.

The department said the latest arrests and immigration enforcement actions form part of the Trump administration’s broader deportation campaign targeting undocumented immigrants accused of criminal offences.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the administration would continue targeting what the department described as “the worst of the worst,” including individuals accused of violent and other serious crimes.

The latest publication follows a similar DHS release in July, when 124 Nigerians were included on the same register.

While the July list identified Nigerians linked to various alleged offences, DHS did not specify when those individuals would be deported.
