A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced his decision to quit the institution, alleging misconduct by a lecturer who reportedly seized and threw away his ₦500,000 earring.
The student, identified as @dipsin1 on TikTok, shared a viral video in which he warned prospective applicants against choosing FUNAAB.
In the clip, he claimed that a lecturer removed the earring from his ear during a class and discarded it, after which he was unable to recover the item.
Visibly upset in the video, the student was seen tearing his FUNAAB identity card while declaring that he would no longer attend the university.
Speaking in a mix of English and pidgin, he described the institution in harsh terms and expressed frustration over the alleged incident.
“I bought the earring for ₦500,000. A lecturer took it from me and threw it away.
“I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find it. I’m done with this school,” he said.
The video has since attracted widespread reactions on TikTok, with users expressing mixed opinions.
While some commenters made light of the situation, others criticised the student’s response or cautioned him against public outbursts.
One user, Puniky, commented jokingly that FUNAAB had been “giving vibes” he chose to ignore, while another, Ovi Brand, suggested the lecturer’s action reflected an abuse of authority.
Others warned the student about the possible consequences of his actions and statements.
As of the time of filing this report, FUNAAB authorities have not issued an official response to the allegation.
