Ghana have parted ways with coach Otto Addo, with 72 days remaining until the kickoff of the 2026 World Cup.

The decision came a few hours after a 2-1 defeat by Germany in Stuttgart during their preparation for the 2026 World Cup which will be held in North America next summer. Ghana also lost 5-1 in Austria on Friday.

The statement read: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo effective immediately.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.

Addo, former Borussia Dortmund player, was appointed for a second stint in March 2024.
