Girls’ Brigade installs Rev. Mother Ajayi as Grand Matron

The Girls’ Brigade has installed Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi as its Grand Matron during a colourful parade held at the Love of Christ Generation Church, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The ceremony, held on August 23, 2026, brought together members of the organisation, church leaders and other distinguished guests to celebrate Ajayi’s contributions to the growth of the Girls’ Brigade and her dedication to Christian service.

A major highlight of the event was the formal presentation of the Grand Matron title to Ajayi in recognition of her commitment to the work of God and her support for the organisation.

The General Secretary of the Unification Church, Senior Prophet Tayo Ajose, attended the ceremony and was also honoured as the Grand Patron of the Girls’ Brigade.

Ajose commended the organisation for recognising Ajayi’s dedication and described the honour as significant to the church.

“The Cherubim and Seraphim Church is proud of the Girls’ Brigade for recognising Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi’s continuous dedication to the things of God,” he said.

“This appreciation and recognition award is very important and special.”

In her acceptance speech, Ajayi expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her, describing the appointment as an opportunity to further support the development of young women through faith and service.

“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with this role as Grand Matron of the Girls’ Brigade,” she said.

Ajayi said the recognition represented more than a personal achievement, stressing that the Girls’ Brigade remained committed to promoting discipline, faith and service among young women.

She pledged to support members of the organisation as they develop into responsible leaders who would reflect Christian values in their communities.

“May the Lord strengthen us to keep building a generation rooted in love, excellence, and dedication to His work,” she added.

The event also featured a coordinated parade by members of the Girls’ Brigade, who demonstrated discipline, teamwork and precision.

The ceremony underscored the importance of mentorship and leadership in advancing the organisation’s mission of nurturing young people through faith, discipline and service.

The appointment of Ajayi as Grand Matron and Ajose as Grand Patron was described as a recognition of their contributions and support for the continued growth of the Girls’ Brigade.
