Glo, Samsung deepen partnership with Galaxy Z Fold8 series launch

Globacom and Samsung have strengthened their partnership with the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 at an exclusive Masterclass held at Gloworld on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event underscored the longstanding collaboration between the two companies, which has delivered exclusive offers and premium experiences to Nigerian consumers. In recognition of the partnership, Samsung presented Globacom with its Foldable Legacy Award for its contribution to the success of the Galaxy Foldable series over the years.

Customers who purchase the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra or Galaxy Z Fold8 from any Gloworld outlet nationwide will receive 18GB of free Glo data, distributed as 3GB monthly for six months, a Glo eSIM with a premium number, and an additional 10GB monthly bonus data for six months. Buyers will also enjoy benefits valued at up to ₦1 million, including Samsung Care+ and flexible payment options.

Speaking at the event, Samsung’s Product Manager, EIP & MNOs Business, Solomon Osibeluwo, described the relationship with Globacom as one built on trust and a shared commitment to innovation. He thanked the telecom operator for helping bring Samsung’s latest technologies closer to Nigerian consumers.

Osibeluwo said the Galaxy Z Fold8 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, offering faster performance, enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities and improved multitasking.

He added that the Galaxy Z Fold8 features a slimmer, lighter passport-inspired design, a brighter display with Vision Booster and anti-reflective technology for improved outdoor viewing, as well as AI-powered tools designed to boost communication, creativity and productivity.

Director of Gloworld, Mohamed Rabie, said the launch marked another milestone in the partnership between Globacom and Samsung, noting that both companies have consistently introduced innovative products and customer-focused services.

According to him, the combination of Samsung’s AI-driven technology and Globacom’s network and customer services enables users to work smarter, create more and stay connected.

Rabie also announced that customers can pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 at Gloworld outlets nationwide from July 22 to August 20, with exclusive pre-order benefits worth up to ₦1 million.

The event featured live demonstrations of the devices, giving business partners, technology enthusiasts and journalists the opportunity to experience Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones, Galaxy AI features and productivity tools.

The companies said the collaboration reflects their continued commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and greater value to customers across Nigeria.
