Telecommunications operator Globacom has announced a significant reduction in its International Direct Dialing (IDD) tariffs to more than 15 countries, with rates now starting from as low as ₦30 per minute.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the company said the new rates, effective August 10, apply to both new and existing subscribers nationwide.
Calls to the United States now cost ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35, while rates to the United Kingdom have been cut from ₦400 to ₦350, and India from ₦45 to ₦40.
Other destinations with reduced tariffs include China (₦75), Saudi Arabia (₦300), and Cameroon (₦700).
In Africa, calls to Benin Republic now cost ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic ₦750, Ghana ₦500, and Togo ₦650.
Rates to the United Arab Emirates have also dropped from ₦450 to ₦325, while calls to Germany now cost ₦550, Côte d’Ivoire ₦700, Libya ₦700, and Malawi ₦1,100 (down from ₦1,200).
Glo described the review as part of its strategy to offer greater value and position itself as the preferred network for international calls, citing affordability and competitiveness.
The company also revealed plans to launch new IDD bundles to further lower costs for frequent international callers.
It urged customers to take advantage of the new rates to stay connected with friends, family, and business partners worldwide.
