The High Court in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, has sentenced a gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, to death by hanging for killing his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu.
The presiding judge, Justice Simon Aboki, sentenced the gospel singer to death by hanging on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Justice Aboki found Ajayi guilty of killing and dismembering Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The singer was charged with one count of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.
