Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to prevent criminal elements from dictating the security situation in Kaduna State. His message came as the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies and key stakeholders, launched a new joint security strategy to counter rising threats across the state.
Speaking on the governor’s behalf, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Sule Shuaibu (SAN), delivered the position during a high-level security meeting held in Kaduna.
The meeting was convened by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander, Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase.
Governor Sani praised the military and other security operatives for their continuous efforts in stabilising vulnerable areas.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting coordinated operations and investing in long-term systems that enhance peace and public safety.
“Kaduna will not bow to criminals. Our determination is unshaken. We will restore normalcy and ensure that no threat challenges the rule of law,” he declared.
The governor also encouraged security agencies to intensify non-kinetic strategies, including community engagement, preventive diplomacy and counter-narratives.
He stressed that sustainable peace must be anchored on justice, development and inclusion.
Earlier, Major General Wase explained that the meeting was aimed at harmonising intelligence-gathering efforts, strengthening inter-agency collaboration and designing a unified response framework to both emerging and existing security concerns.
He emphasized that only a collective, intelligence-driven approach can guarantee lasting peace in the state.
According to him, effective security management requires close cooperation among security agencies, traditional institutions, civil society, business leaders and the wider public.
Representing the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Maigwari II, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Isah, commended the improved cooperation between traditional leaders and security agencies.
He noted that this collaboration has enhanced dispute resolution in affected communities.
The engagement featured lectures, presentations and interactive discussions aimed at enhancing early-warning systems, strengthening joint operations and promoting community-led peace initiatives — all geared toward building a safer and more resilient Kaduna State.
