Governor Uba Sani has approved the appointment of Mr. Bature Sunday Likoro as the new Agwom Kamuru, following the passing of His Highness, Mr. Yohanna Sidi Kukah, on December 18, 2024.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, who noted that Likoro has been appointed as a 3rd Class Chief.
Born on August 15, 1958, Mr. Likoro holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from Kaduna Polytechnic. The statement highlighted his strong community influence, citing his contributions to local development and engagement with various stakeholders.
While the appointment takes immediate effect, the Commissioner said that details of the installation ceremony and presentation of the staff of office will be announced later.
Governor Sani congratulated the new traditional ruler, describing the appointment as well-deserved, and wished him success and divine guidance in his reign.
