Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has condemned the killing of 12 Kaduna State citizens in Mangun District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as “an act of savagery” that must not go unpunished.
According to the governor, the victims—innocent travellers—were en route to a wedding ceremony in Quan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State when they were attacked and killed. Eleven others sustained varying degrees of injuries during the assault.
In a strongly worded statement released on Saturday, Governor Sani called on security agencies to “leave no stone unturned” in hunting down the perpetrators.
“The criminals must be fished out and dealt with accordingly. There is no justification for anybody to attack any citizen of Nigeria in any part of the country. This madness must stop. Enough is enough,” he declared.

The governor also urged Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, to take decisive action. “He must take full charge of the situation and direct the operations of the security agencies until the murderers are brought to justice,” Sani said, adding that he will personally follow up on the progress of investigations and field operations.
While expressing his condolences to the bereaved families, Governor Sani appealed for calm among Kaduna citizens. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice and peacebuilding, citing the “Kaduna Peace Model” as evidence of what sustained efforts and political will can achieve.
“The situation in Plateau State is not irredeemable. The bloodshed must stop,” he stated.
Governor Sani assured that the injured victims will receive proper medical care and pledged continued support to the affected families. “We shall do all in our power to lessen their pains,” he said.
The incident has reignited concerns over security and intercommunal tensions in Nigeria’s north-central region, which has witnessed a string of violent attacks in recent months.
